The toughest holes in golf

As much as we love to complain about municipal courses, it’s hard to deny that the slower greens, open fairways, and lack of green-side bunkers helps our scoring. But what about the hardest golf holes in the world? The ones that give the pros trouble – 500+ yard par 4s, par 3s that require fairway woods off the tea, runaway greens everywhere.

Our friends over at GolfDigest have done a great job breaking down some of the toughest holes on the PGA, and here they are:

10. Ninth hole, Monterey Peninsula Country Club (Shore Course), 223 yards, par 3

9. Sixteenth hole, El Camaleón Golf Club, 515 yards, par 4

8. Sixth hole, PGA National (Champions Course), 479 yards, par 4

7. Ninth hole, TPC Harding Park, 515 yards, par 4

6. Twelfth hole, Pebble Beach Golf Links, 202 yards, par 3

5. Eighteenth hole, Bay Hill Club & Lodge, 458 yards, par 4

4. Second hole, Waialae Country Club, 423 yards, par 4

3. Twelfth hole, Torrey Pines Golf Course (South Course), 505 yards, par 4

2. Sixteenth hole, Muirfield Village Golf Club, 201 yards, par 3

1. Eighteenth The Golf Club of Houston, 488 yards, par 4
